REST

This year I noticed that some years are sabbatical years and that’s okay. After a major project that would have kept me occupied for the rest of the year fell through, I decided to embrace the moment and focus exclusively on my own personal projects rather than look for new “work”. This meant I did what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it and how I wanted to do it, guilt-free.

Sometimes we’re so concerned with appearing productive that we forget to do the things that keep us productive: rest, leisure, discovering new interests, developing new skills, inner work and self-reflection.

sab·bat·i·cal
: a period of absence from work and other responsibilities to reflect, grow, remember one’s true purpose and gain new appreciation for life and what it has to offer.
